Imperial Point, world-class medicine
at your door...
Betty
Shelley enjoys living in Imperial Point in her three-bedroom,
three-bath home with pool, that was built in the early 1960s.
“This model sold for $34,990 at that time and now, with
upgrades, has an asking price of $500,000 to $600,000,”
Ms. Shelley, president of Imperial Point Civic Organization says.
Imperial Point homes had the first all
electric General Electric appliances. Ronald Reagan visited and
demonstrated them for Life Magazine! Of interest to some of our
urban transplants is our sidewalks. They make walking very safe
in this neighborhood.
Private homes remain the backbone of
the neighborhood, now bordered on all sides by condominiums. Several
mansions, in the million -dollar category, are being built within
the area. However, a majority of original single- family homes,
now upgraded, are still in place.
“The landscaping is as different
as the 10 different model homes here,” Ms. Shelley explains.
Some lawns are beautifully manicured, while others are very wild.
Luis Llenza Garden Designs is responsible for creating natural
landscaping within the neighborhood.

Imperial Point is within walking distance
to the library and hospital. An elementary school, middle school
and high school are all close by, as are several houses of worship,
restaurants and privately owned retail stores that are also within
walking distance. A shopping center is conveniently located just
minutes away.
